Kael was named after her grandmothers, Analyra meaning “Moonlight Flower” and Kaerista meaning “Veil of Suns”. Because her name is a composite, it can be translated to mean “Moonlight Veil” or “Veil of Moonlight.” The name is usually thought to refer to her hair or skin.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Kael is somewhere in the vicinity of three hundred and fifty two years old, but is physically only around 28. Her hair is jet black except for a star of white near the front and it reaches her ankles in thick waves. Her eyes are emerald green, and stand out vividly against her almost corpse pale skin. She has several distinguishing marks including a thin, horizontal scar on her left shoulder, a slightly U-shaped scar that stretches all the way acrossed her lower abdomen, and a birthmark on her inner right thigh.

She is fairly tall, around 5’8”, and has a voluptuous build that comes in useful when ‘negotiating’ diplomatic relations with neighboring countries. As one would expect, her mannerisms are for the most part regal, but not at all stiff. She’s a passionate woman, and she knows how to use that to her advantage.
HISTORY:
Kael’s world is one of high fantasy, stuck forever in a medieval era. StarFrost is a frozen wasteland that survives because of its precious gem exports. The gems mined in StarFrost are harder than any substance known in our world, and are similar to diamonds in appearance. The people of StarFrost traditionally worship an ice goddess called Mycera. Her temple lies deep in tunnels in the crystal mountains that enclose the small kingdom. Mycera is said to keep wolves with fur of metallic silver and eyes like mercury, so all wolves are revered in StarFrost.
Her mother died giving birth to her, and because of that, her father tended to ignore her. Her older brother, Murik, kept a lecherous watch over her from a very young age, and after he poisoned their father and took the throne, tried repeatedly to rape her.
Kael grew up in the Palace of StarFrost with many servants. The Palace itself was made of the ice-like gem that was the country’s main export. She stayed in the Palace until shortly after her brother took the throne. At this time, StarFrost was invaded by the bastard son of the Duke of Phoenix (who she later ends up marrying to ensure a truce), and Kael and her people were banished to live in the mountains around the city. Murik was locked in the StarFrost dungeon.
PERSONALITY:
Kael is a survivor, and she’ll use every method at her disposal to get what she wants. Usually she uses her looks and trades ‘favors’ for favors. She is kind to a fault, however, and always puts the needs of her people ahead of herself. Her favorite saying is “Even the greatest beach is composed of tiny grains of sand.”
Kaelyra is idealistic in that she desires nothing more than to be happy. To her this means having a ‘true love’ and ‘happily ever after’ ending. It’s also something she believes she will never have because of her forced marriage. She has a fairly quick temper and tends to become coldly formal when angry. Usually, however, she’s full of smiles and laughter, if only to allay the fears of others.
Kael is practical about her clothing, and wears whatever is needed for the task at hand, be it a formal dress for holding court, or a pair of rough pants for travel. In addition to being the Queen, during her brother’s reign, she rode out with the army as General when he refused to endanger his own life, so she has a formal set of armor as well.

Because I KNOW people are going to ask...
"Wait... Kael looks suspiciously like Maggie... What's up with that?"
Yes. She does. *slight smile* It's a very long story, but put simply, they're the same person. Maggie is Kael modified to live in 'our' world for the purposes of an RP I was involved with.
Kaelyra is more refined than Maggie, her skin is paler, and her hair has the star. Oh, and of course, Kael is a queen, and Maggie's a prostitute. Other than those TEENY differences... *laugh* Okay, okay, so they're not that similar. But they're still the same person.

Err... Sorry, I make up all the names myself, so they're a bit tricky to say just from looking at them.
